Sometimes I have people ask me why dont people just bring feral cats to shelters for a chance at adoption.. reality is that is never possible since they are put down soon as they are brought it. This clip is from the best pet overpopulation documentary Best Friend Forgotten The only thing I disagree is regarding lifespan of feral cats. 3-4 years is the norm for unmanaged colonies but when cats are in TNR programs they can live as long as house cats. One of my recent rescues has gotten to me.. The pictures are of Foster. A happy loving DECLAWED tuxedo that was severely neglected and left to fend for himself. Luckily he went to the right people for help and Foster is safely indoors as an office kitty at my fathers work. The collar and ID tag were placed on him to prevent animal control picking him up until he could be placed. I am sick and tired of people leaving their pets to fend for themselves! They think its better they live outside where there is danger around every corner then simply keeping the pet for life or last resort bring to a rescue or shelter. Especially peoples regards with cats. Their not completely independent animals people. Look at what this poor cat went through: Starvation, fleas, and poorly infected skin and coat. Wake UP! Their domestic cats NOT wild animals. House cats means they live in houses NOT in trash bins.. Been wanting to make this and finally got to doing it. Teddy was one of the most devoted cats I ever adopted. He would often just watch me, blinking with that little raspy purr of his. In quiet awe. We were connected and he thought I hung the moon. He was so special and we all knew this. Teddy's FIV took over and I gave him the upmost best care I could ever give my little soul mate. On his last day he begged me to take him outside and I helped him walk the path one last time, then I embraced him in the sun sitting on the porch one final morning together. He left this world on his own, in my arms. He wanted no vet just me and him and our favorite spot on the porch. The song is called Tangled Up In You by Stand.
